Hillcrest Manor residents earn honors at Kay County Free Fair

Residents of Hillcrest Manor brought home several honors from this year's Kay County Free Fair, earning first- and second-place finishes for their creative entries.

Janean Black received first place for a handmade blanket, while Betty Barrows also earned first-place honors for a picture she entered in the fair.

James Hoskinson received second place for a wooden frame he painted.

In addition to entering the fair's competitions, several Hillcrest Manor residents had an opportunity to visit the fairgrounds and enjoy the annual Kay County tradition.

Hillcrest Manor staff accompanied the group as residents toured exhibits, took in the sights and activities around the fairgrounds and enjoyed some traditional fair food.

The facility congratulated Black, Barrows and Hoskinson on their winning entries and thanked all of the residents who took part in this year's festivities.

The Kay County Free Fair annually brings together residents from Blackwell and communities throughout the county for exhibits, competitions, livestock shows, entertainment and other activities.
