Charles Ray Hahn

June 26, 2026

Charles Ray Hahn, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on April 28, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Phillip and Margaret Jane "Jennie" Hahn, and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1956.
Charles received an undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Oklahoma where he was a proud member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and became an avid, lifelong Sooner fan.
After medical school, Charles served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Japan. Following his service, he returned to the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine to complete a specialty in dermatology and later established a private practice in Portland, Oregon. There, he met Gwen, his wife of 41 years, and they blended their families through the deep love that they shared.
Charles lived his life with a spirit of adventure! He loved the outdoors and exploring nature's wonders, including summiting 16 Northwest mountains with the Mazamas, hunting, hiking, and skiing all over the world — but it was being a father that was his greatest and most cherished adventure.
Charles was a dedicated father and often shared that having children kept him young and gave fullness to his life. He always had a gentle touch and a smile as he taught his children to work hard, enjoy life, and appreciate the beauty and joy of the outdoors. He was an unwavering source of love and support to his entire family. His wonderful sense of humor, generous heart, keen intellect, laughter and stories will never be forgotten.
Charles is survived by his wife, Gwen; his children, David (Jeanne) Ericcsen, Jeffrey (Laura) Ericcsen, Douglas (Liora) Hahn, Keri (Wesley) Pinney, Deven (Victor) Hahn, Jennifer (David) Ball, and Samantha (Brandon) Koopman; his sister, Phyllis (Thomas) McCasland; his nephews, Thomas and Mark McCasland, and his fifteen grandchildren.
For those wishing to honor Charles' memory, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Glioblastoma Research Organization.
